Columbia University is inviting students from all over the world to participate in their free Massive Open Online Course on \u201cThe Age of Sustainable Development\u201d. For more than 250 years, Columbia has been a leader in higher education in the nation and around the world.<\/p>\n

The Age of Sustainable Development\u201d gives students an understanding of the key challenges and pathways to sustainable development. The course has a total duration of 14 weeks and covers topics such as \u201cWhat is Sustainable Development?\u201d, \u201cInequality Around the World, \u201cThe MDGs and the End of Extreme Poverty\u201d, \u201cHuman Rights and Gender Equality\u201d, \u201cUniversal Health Coverage\u201d, \u201cSustainable Food Supply and the End of Hunger\u201d and \u201cCurbing Climate Change\u201d.<\/p>\n

The course is taught entirely in English with Chinese subtitles and requires a time committment of about 2 hours per module (28 hours in total). The Age of Sustainable Development was rated excellent with 4.8 out of 5 points by students of previous sessions of this course. This course does currently not offer any certification.<\/p>\n
