International Humanitarian Law is an online course offered by the International Law Centre at the Universit\u00e9 catholique de Louvain in Belgium. Taught entirely in English, the course is intended for individuals who have knowledge of the fundamentals of international law and are ready to take a graduate-level course in the field.<\/p>\n

The course provides an advanced look at humanitarian law, covering the sources of current laws, the subjects of laws, the scope of applying humanitarian laws, how the actions of hostiles are regulated, how people are protected and what responsibilities states and individuals have under the current legal framework.<\/p>\n

Lasting for 7 weeks, International Humanitarian Law requires 6 to 8 hours of study time per week to successfully complete the course material.<\/p>\n

The course is presented as a series of videos with complementary readings that deepen students\u2019 understanding of the topics covered. There is no fee to enroll in or complete the online course. Students who require a Verified Certificate of Completion will be assessed a small administrative fee.<\/p>\n\n
