This course provides an insider perspective into the work of international criminal courts and tribunals. You will learn about the investigation and prosecution of international crimes in The Hague. <\/p>\n\n\n

International Law In Action: Investigating and Prosecuting International Crimes is an online course offered by Universiteit Leiden in the Netherlands through the university\u2019s Grotius Centre for International Studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course is completely free; however, students who wish to receive a certificate of completion at the end of the four-week course must pay a fee. The class examines how international criminal cases are handled by the International Criminal Court and provides an overview of its functions, benefits and weaknesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each week-long unit of International Law In Action: Investigating and Prosecuting International Crimes requires 2 to 4 hours of study time to complete. The course material is presented in the form of videos and readings. Most weeks, students will watch seven videos and complete one reading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An exam is given at the end of the unit to see how much of the course material students have retained.
