Ichnocryl CEM 200
A high performance cold applied elastomeric waterproofing self-adhesive membrane system.

An effective and reliable waterproofing and protection system is of utmost importance in any structure exposed to extreme weather conditions, sudden and irregular temperature variations, strongly polluted industrial influences, heavy rain, seismic vibration etc. Special treatments are indispensable for expansion and construction joints, leaking storage tanks, roof and balcony gardens, underground basements, external wall wardrobes and other seepage prone areas.


Ichnocrylcem – 200 is a single component high solid emulsion, which develops an elastomeric membrane on weather curing. The product is based on German technology and imported raw materials marginally modified to suit Indian weather conditions and manufactured at our modern equipped plant near Kolkata.

The uniqueness of the product lies in its ability to withstand ultraviolet radiation over very long periods and an elongation of above 600%. The product is suitable for usage on all types of surfaces ranging from cementitous, lime-soorkee, metallic, hard stones, and wooden surfaces to polished glass. It can also be applied on bituminous surfaces.

Ichnocrtl CEM 200 is specifically developed to ensure economic, highly durable waterproofing and protection of roofs, balconies, terraces, sunshades etc. Ichnocryl CEM 200 is a thixotropic cold applied elastic material on a polymer base, for use on vertical as well as horizontal surface. Upon curing, Ichnocryl CEM 200 forms a seamless, monolithic, watertight, flexible and elastic membrane, making the treated surface absolutely impervious to water. The cured membrane is resistant to ultraviolet radiations and exhibit excellent resistance to ingress of water and all forms of industrial pollutants.

Due to its White color, solar reflection is improved, resulting in cooler roofs. Ichnocryl CEM 200 is resistant to the growth of microorganisms, roots, fungus, etc. and provides durable and outstanding waterproofing and protection to applied surfaces. Inherently, due to its white colour, solar reflection is of high order. It reflects almost 60 - 70% of incident ultra violet and infrared rays of sun, keeping the substrate substantially cooler. Living/working zones remain cool for longer periods, reducing cooling energy demands (air-conditioning etc.) and costs.
The protective coat of semi rigid membrane formed by carefully crafted formulation of a slurry prepared from Ichnocryl CEM 200 along with ceramic based microsphere (less than 30 microns) extenders, qualescing agents, emulsifiers and surface active additives is applied over the membarane formed by pure undiluted Ichnocryl CEM 200.
It is a High Albedo : Heat Reflective, two coat slurry coating which works on three heat transfer principles - Reflectance, Emittance and Insulation.
The protective cum reflective slurry coats on drying and hardening has high solar reflective index in line with standards certified by the globally accepted and LEED approved ASTM methods. Ultraviolet and Infrared rays of the sun are reflected to the extent of 80% and above

Coverage rates and dry film thickness may vary with surface texture and porosity of substrate. Coating with 1.0 kg (0.83 ltr) per Sqm in the usual 1 dilute and 2 undiluted coats on a prepared surface will provide an adequate film thickness of 0.5-0.65 mm.

Ichnocryl CEM 200 is non-taxic, non-flammable and splashes on skin should be removed by copious amounts of water. If contact with eyes occour, wash well with plenty of water immediately and seek medical advise.

BRICKCURE HE

Product Description :

Brickcure HE is a multipurpose concrete admixture designed to accelerate the normal setting time of flyash bricks and other concrete forms. It is admixed in flyash brick or other concrete form formulations for rapid strength development and easy and early stripping of form-work. Brickcure HE improves the plastic and hardening properties like workability, compressive strength and flexural strengths of bricks. Conforms to IS : 9103 and ASTM C 494

  • Optimum dosage of Brickcure HE to meet specific requirement should be always determined by trials using the materials and the conditions that will be experienced in use. The normal dosage range is between 0.1-0.2% of the total brick setting mix. However dosages may vary depending upon the mix design, set requirement and ambient conditions.

  • Setting time and hardening of cement paste varies with dose of Brickcure HE and with difference in quality and quantity of cement in the mix formulation.

  • Brickcure HE is not recommended as accelerator for RCC.

    HEXPLAST LW +

    Integral liquid waterproofing, plasticizing, strength enhancing and corrosion inhibiting compound for reinforced or non reinforced cement mortars

    The Product
    HEXPLAST LW+ is a revolutionary comprehensive cement additive which protects cement concrete internally from water ingress while protecting the re-bars of RCC and mortars against chloride induced corrosion. The unique bi-polar compound migrates through concrete during curing process and forms a passive layer over re-bars to stop chloride corrosion. It meets the requirements of IS 2645, IS 9103 and ASTM C 1582M. HEXPLAST LW+ composes of wetting agent, plasticizer, polymers and additives. As an admixture for concrete mortar, plaster mortar and RCC it makes the setting more cohesive with lesser capillaries and micro pores. It primarily helps in water reduction and introduces plasticizing properties in cement concrete and mortars.
    Chances of cracking even at hairline level and micro pore developments are reduced to zero level rendering cement concrete and mortars water impervious. It also increases compressive strength, flexural strength and workability of cement mixes. In reinforced cement concrete the surface active anticorrosive additives automatically migrates towards the metallic reinforcements, reacts and forms anticorrosive coatings on rebar surfaces. Simple stepwise application methods are as follows.

    Application Methodology
    • Prepare intimate homogeneous dry mix of cement, sand and aggregates.
    • Moisten the mix with 50% of required water and add HEXPLAST LW+ to the balance 50% separately in the ratio of 200ml per bag of cement.
    • Add the HEXPLAST LW+ mixed water to the moistened cement mix and continue mixing till a homogeneous well dispersed mix is attained.
    • Place the concrete or apply plaster, as needed.
    • Cure the applied mortar or concrete as per good construction practices.

    TAROXY HE

    Flexible and tough coal tar epoxy coating with outstanding protection and corrosion inhibition abilities

    The Product
    Taroxy HE is a bi-component cold cure flexible but tough coal tar epoxy polyamide coating meant for long term protection of steel, structural concrete, wood and other civil construction materials in abrasion and corrosion prone environment. Abrasion resistance is of very high order.
    It comes in four grades, high built [HB], low built [LB], general purpose [GP] and the very special 500 micron DFT. A comparison chart along with characteristics are provided below for selection of the right grade.

    Application Methodology
    • Prepare the surface by mechanical grinding or other suitable method.
    • Remove dust, flakes, oil, grease etc. by sand blasting, iron brush or compressed air.
    • For new concrete ensure it is at least 28 days old for natural curing before coating it with Taroxy HE.
    • At coating time ambient should be between 10 and 50 0C.
    • Stir drums of each component by stirrer to ensure uniformity before mixing the two. Mix component A and component B in the ratio 4:1 and stir for homogeneous mixing preferably with a heavy duty stirrer with spiral blade at the bottom of the rod. Stirring speed should be around 500 rpm.
    • To avoid inducing air into the mixing mass, place the spiral blade of the stirrer at the bottom of the container before switching on the stirrer. Slowly move the spinning stirrer blade up and down within the liquid taking care to keep it well below the liquid level while it is still spinning. Continue this up and down motion for at least five minutes to ensure homogeneous mixing. Essentially switch of the stirrer before lifting it out of the liquid. Allow the combined two component mixture so prepared, to sit for an induction time of 20 minutes. Stir again with hand stirrer to ensure homogeneity before application.
    • For best results, apply two coats of Taroxy HE at the suggested interval of eight hours by brush, roller or spray. First coat should be allowed to dry tack free before application of the second coat. Prepare material for second coat in the same manner done for the first coat. Always bear in mind the pot life and use up all mixed materials within time limits specified. For best finish wipe first coat with MIBK and immediately wipe it dry with dry cloth before application of second coat. For airless spray application use standard equipment having tip size of 0.48 - 0.88 mm and tip pressure 110 – 160 kg/cm2 . Clean equipments immediately after use with Epoxy Thinner HE.

    Health & Safety
    Use mask , hand gloves and goggles during application. Clean hands with soap water after application. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of unlikely contact with eyes or skin, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water, cleanse with soap and lukewarm water and ask for expert medical advice. Never use solvent to clean the contacted areas. If swallowed inadvertently, immediately seek medical advice. Do not try to induce vomiting.

    Ichnocryl TR

    A clear and transparent UV resistant protective coating compound

    Ichnocryl – TR is a 100% acrylic binder in the form of emulsion polymer designed for use as a clear, transparent, protective UV resistant elastomeric coat on premium quality interior and exterior wall paints, road marking paints, floor paints, color lime wash, cement paints, dry distempers or any other colored background on various substrates. Its adhesion and abrasion resistance has been designed for these applications.

    Ichnocryl – TR by itself offers excellent color acceptance, sheen and high degree of resistance to dirt pick-up. It may be used to make high gloss abrasion resistant exterior paints and is a surfactant-stabilized system.

    APPLICATION AREAS :
    Can be applied on any substrate ranging from cement, bitumen, plastic, wood, stones, earthenware, leather, paper, cloth, boards, interior and exterior paints to even polished glass.
    Provides transparent, durable, weather resistant, non-tarnishing waterproof coating on wooden and metal furniture. Protects paintings, antiques and artefacts.
    Advantageous from the standpoint of toxicity, fire hazard, ease of cleaning and is in consonance with air pollution control laws.

    HEXFIX – TA

    Single component fast setting tile adhesive mortar

    Description

    Hexfix-TA is a ready mix blend of Portland cement, sand and special additives producing an excellent tile setting mortar enabling tile setting on floor and walls in two hours and providing finished installation which may be opened to foot traffic in 24 hours time.

    It is used in mortar bed as thin as 2.5 mm provided the tiles are properly embedded. Once set, it is not affected by prolonged contact with water and ensures permanent installation of tiles with higher bond strength along with lower material and labor cost than conventional Portland cement based mortar beds.

    For fixing ceramic and mosaic tiles on walls and floors

    Application Methodology

    • Ensure that tiling surface is clean, sound, rough and is free from any standing water, oil, dirt, dust, curing compounds, sealer, coatings, old adhesive residues or foregn matters.
    • Substrate surface and ambient temperature should ranges between 4O C and 40O C.
    • The surface and tiles should be pre wetted properly.
    • Do not use mechanical mixers, high speed disperser, modified drill machine etc for mixing. Mix only enough mortar that will be used within next 30 minutes.

      N.B. Proper mortar consistency should be such that when applied with a notched trowel on the substrate, the ridges formed in the mortar will not flow or slump. Some stiffening may occur within the next thirty minutes, re-stir occasionally and apply fast. After 30 minutes and discard all hardened material.
    • Do not adjust tiles in mortar backing after they have been set past 10-15 minutes.

    Cleaning

    Use only water to remove uncured mortar.

    Limitations

    Hexfix-TA must not be applied directly on wood, asphalt sheeting, vinyl covered walls, cement asbestos boards, metal, glass, plastic or gypsum mortar beds. At temperatures below 4c C longer setting time is required before traffic is allowed.

    HEXGROUT – HS

    Single component free flowing non-shrink high strength high fluidity grout

    Description

    Hexgrout HS is a non-shrink high flow grout specially designed for use where high strength and high fluidity is required. It is formulated as a natural aggregate system with a shrinkage compensating binder and is highly flow-able without sacrificing strength or performance capabilities. Hexgrout HS is formulated to provide consistency and exacting performance in critical grouting operations. It also can be used as a repair product in various types of application in the project.

    Application Methodology

    • Ensure that concrete surface is clean, sound, rough and is free from any standing water, oil, dirt, debris, paint, unsound concrete or other contaminants.
    • Ensure that surface temperature & ambient temperature is not < 5O C and > 40O C.
    • As a precautionary measure, remove all residue with a vacuum cleaner or pressure washing.
    • Pre-soak the concrete with water to ensure a saturated surface during the grouting process.
    • Mix 25 kg Hexgrout HS with 4.125 L water for flow-able consistency. Where grouting is to be done for deeper thickness as in bolt pocket grouting, add about 9-10 kg of pea gravel per 25 kg of Hexgrout HS.
    • Use requisite quantity of water to achieve desired flow level of Hexgrout HS. Do not add excess water as this may lead to bleeding & segregation. Do not add sand / cement to Hexgrout HS as this may change its properties.
    • Pour grout immediately after mixing from the one side into a watertight shuttering around the machine basement / structure. Ensure that the air dispensed by pouring grout escapes and air entrapment is avoided. The grouting should be continuous and maintain sufficient pressure head to keep grout flowing. To prevent grouts from leaking out, use wooden or MS shuttering material with a polythene sheets .
    • When grouting base-plate, pour grout into the head box and allow to flow under the plate. Straps pre- placed under the plate will aid in working the grout across. Grout should be placed at minimum of 25 mm thick and a maximum of 150 mm per lift when placed in a large mass.
    • Bring all Hexgrout HS materials as well as foundation and base-plate as close to room temperature as possible. Cold temperatures will significantly reduce flow characteristics and will cause difficulty of base- plate grouting. Higher temperatures will increase initial flow but cut down on working time.
    • Ensure proper curing of Hexgrout HS to achieve optimal durability / performance of grout. Wet cure the grout until forms are stripped. Then cure the grout with high solid curing compounds..

    Heat insulating, heavy duty fortified liquid waterproofing membrane coating system

    Description:

    Ichnocool HILM is a single component reinforced heavy duty elastomeric, monolithic, UV resistant flexible coating system using latest ceramic nanotechnology microspheres for solar energy reflection developed for cooling effects while waterproofing the substrate applied upon. The microspheres in waterproof coating system reflects solar heat back to the atmosphere keeping the substrate surface substantially cooler.

    • Provides seamless heat reflecting elastic film over building roofs, walls, terraces, flats, slopes and inclines.
    • Being liquid, forms hard adherent coat on complicated geometric structures like domes, arches etc.
    • No additional protective coating required for roof •subject to normal foot traffic.
    • Can be coated on both sides of top roof, outer side and ceiling for better heat protection.
    • Very effective from energy saving angle. Reduces air conditioning and cooling costs.

    Application Methodology:

    • Clean surface of all loose gravel, dirt and foreign particles with high-pressure wash.
    • Before application, surface should be totally dry, free from moisture, oil, grease, mill scale or rust.
    • Do not apply during rains.
    • Prior to application, repair torn flashings, loose brick, faulty covings of parapet walls etc. to provide even surface. Large blisters and surface breaks shall be slit opened for the release of entrapped moisture and repaired with Ichnocryl CEM 200 as per manufacturer’s specifications wherever necessary.
    •  In case of old terraces with brick-bat-coba / screeds, ensure that substrate is firm and sound. Repair damaged / hollow portions, sharp edges, surface cracks etc.
    • Bitumen based waterproofing treatments must be completely removed by mechanical scarification or by any other effective mechanical method.
    • Apply one coat of dilute Ichnocryl CEM 200 [1:1:: Ichnocryl CEM 200: water] and allow it to dry for 2-3 hours.
    • Apply first coat of Ichnocryl HILM @ 415 ml/m2 and Immediately place one layer of Ichno Geotext 40/50 GSM on the wet coat of Ichnocryl HILM.
    • Apply second coat of Ichnocryl HILM @ 415 ml/m2 and allow it to dry.
    • Finally apply the third coat of Ichnocryl HILM @ 415 ml/m2 to get a 1mm thick dry film.
    • For vertical wall apply Ichnocryl HILM @ 210 ml/m2 in two coats on dried dilute coat of Ichnocryl CEM 200 to get a sufficient coating thickness of 300 plus micron DFT.
    • Ensure all corners, gaps, joints, protrusions, outlets and other vulnerable areas are reinforced with 50 GSM fiber glass with one extra coat of Ichnocryl HILM.

    Health & Safety:

    Use mask, hand gloves, goggles during application. Always •clean hands with soap water after every application.

    Packing:

    Available in 20 L and 5L container.

    Storage:

    Store in cool and dry place under shed away from heat.

    Shelf Life:

    One year in original unopened sealed condition.
